I did because I go to a hunting camp that has no utilities and I use an inverter frequently there and get tired of hearing the truck running or a generator running when I need to use it.The problem I found was the ones that had similar or greater CCA's had dimensional sizes that would not fit.I did get the diehard platinums last night and they were shorter in height than the optima red tops I had and I was looking at the diehard platinum marine online but they did not have any in stock so i couldnt determine if they would fit.I did not want to completely kill the one good optima I had and I didnt want to run on one battery any longer and bought the 2.IF the marines will fit I will be kicking myself for not waiting.Total was 414.00 for the group 65 platinums.Installed myself.
Ouch! I remember i bought 1 marine to run accessories from my box trailer and it was alittle around 100 to 150 Cant remember. Not sure on the CCA either. i think im gonna just go with basic that has my CCAs i need. Looking for something with a warranty too just for added assurance in my mind.
What am i looking for when buying new batteries? Like the minimal CCA's and such? Ever consider a deep cycle marine battery?
If there were a main battery it would be closest to the main load and charging source which would be the passenger side
I have tried deep cycle batteries on other vehicles and they don't seem to hold up well

Given differences in construction between deep cycle and starting batteries, the battery industry recommends deep cycle batteries have 20% more capacity than starting batteries, when used in starting applications. Absorbed glass mat batteries, such as Life Line, would be the choice for inverter applications given their superior performance in deep discharge scenarios.
Hey guys I think after everyone comes to a agreement on the best batteries it needs to be posted on Guzzle's some how for futer reference. Also I know that if you would just install a battery Isolator for around $100.00 your life of these batteries would be even longer. They as they sit and not get used for say aweek they drain each other. Which in turn will loose there load capabilties.
I personally don't have to have the very best battery. I will buy a good 850 CCA and 1000 CA 65 series battery that should last me 4 to 5 years, in all probability maybe longer if I remember to maintain the electrolyte level. I'd say the price range is probably from $80 to $120 each, depending on your access to big discount stores. I'll buy mine locally for sure and expect to pay not much over $100 each.
