New batts are in. I had to do the drivers side twice. . After installing both, I looked at the drivers side and something didn't look right. Well, I forgot to put the batt cover back on. . She fires right up now and I'm so into stock look.
I would bet that the majority of the time when one battery fails it will be the passenger side - I think this is what they call the 'primary' battery and I had the same thing happen on mine - replaced both batteries with the ones from Auto Zone.
I know some folks say 'both' batteries should be worked at the same 'pace' but I also see evidence of the 'primary' battery dispersing acid vapors from the cell covers more than on the secondary battery.
FWIW I will swap the two - say once a year to try and maintain the same level of 'drain' for each battery hoping to eliminate the passenger side from failing first.

Later,
I'm not sure I agree with this. You can take the clamps off the passenger batt and still start the engine with the driver's side batt. They are in-line, so I think they are being charged at the same time, unless you think one batt is grabbing all the juice from the alt.
I was looking for batteries today on Sears web site...A guy wrote a review that he says that the Sears dry cell battery is made by odessy.... Do you know if that is true? Thanks Matt
from what i have read on odyssey's site comparing to the sears the dimensions and weight are the same,as are the cranking amps and sears says their battery is 99.9% pure lead which odyssey says also.I dont know how to find out for sure who they are getting them from.
A_HA!!!! i just googled"who makes die hard platinum batteries" about half way down is a statement from Sears Holding Corp dated February 2 2007 that details an agreement for enersys of reading Pa to start producing sears die har platinum batteries.I dont know how to add a link or I would.
Well i guess that answers that....Good detective work there....I did a google on it this morning and didnt find that....I have seen them made on "how it's made" tv show....Looks like thats what in going to run.... Thanks Again...
Here locally there is a Taylor Battery Co. In Louisville KY. They sale reconditioned batteries for 20 dollars each and my Dad was able to get 2 Motor Craft Brand for that and they have been in his truck for 3 yrs still strong.
According to the press release they are being made in warrensburg MO,and according to the odyssey website their batteries are also made in warrensburg MO,sears'press release doesnt address the exact structural makeup of the battery but what technical info they do give paralells the construction of an odyssey battery based upon info on te odyssey site.I am running on one batttery right now,so I am off to sears, pricey but 4 years full replacement isnt bad so I am going to try them.
Thats a great deal RonJon,I have gotten stuck twice with bad batteries, the originals and interstate,I then bought optima red tops and they were good, one just died after 6 years so I need to replace both,I travel some lonely roads in upstate NY where I cant get cell service so for the peace of mind I am going to spend the money.I will report any disappointment with them if there is any but I am hoping not.
