Found this BullyDog chip: Don't know if it would work.

BULLY DOG 6 POSITION CHIP FOR EARLY 7.3 POWERSTROKE

I'm thinking no since it was a manual tranny?

This one is right down the road! Calling him now. Hopefully he still has it.

http://montana.craigslist.org/pts/1939071128.html

EDIT: He said he still has it. I told him that if it is compatable that I would pay $100 cash for it today. What do you guys think?

It looks like model number 1704. I have heard that sometimes people buy used chips and then get shafted because they need to send them in to get updated to run on their truck and that costs hundreds. How can I make sure that this thing is compatable before I go spending the money and then ending up paying way too much on making it work?

Might be all right for a while but your trans will be wanting to kick you in the A--. Buy the dam gauges I hooked you up with & get a few more $$ to good tunes

Ugh. Haha. Ya I know I know. I just cant afford to spend the money on gauges and a tuner. I dont want to have sweet gauges and no chip/tuner for the next 9 months! That would kill me. But i suppose that would be better than killing my trans. Is Superchips really that bad on your trans? I dont plan on doing a bunch of heavy towing or anything. Hey check out what I added to my EDIT.

Just breaking stones bud, I have a buddy with an Ex runs that SuperChips for a while now. Haven't heard him complain about anything so I don't know. BTW he don't let me get around that Ex with mine since I've got it like I want it. He did alot of chirping before I got my chip haha now I can't find him

Haha I bet he's avoiding you at all costs. I would. I just called the guy again. He said he is getting rid of it because he got the Edge Juiced W/attitude. My understanding is that the previous owner of the superchips would need to set it back to stock for it to be compatable on my truck. He said that they had to set everything back to stock before they could install the Edge (his PCM and the Superchips). He said that he is almost positive that it will work and that the most that I would have to do to make it work is just plug it into the computer and get a software update. He said that it was the most user friendly chip he's ever dealt with and that the shops say the same thng. I want to make sure I am making the right decision in buying this thing...... anyone? I mean it is a deal and no shipping costs....

Not covered yet. If I get this working on my truck for $100, then I will most likely be spending the $300 on the gauges. I could afford $400 for chip + gauges. Someone please tell me if I should go through with this! I get off work around 4:00 and it is already 2:35. Most Montanans are good people so hopefully if I buy it and it doesn't work out I can get the doe back but I would like to be sure.

idk man i would save your coinage on a dp tunner with customs tunes and everythign once your work picks back up. get some solid gauges and stare at how pretty they are until you can get your chip and get it all the tunes you wnant at once. thats what i did. one more reason to wait till spring to get your tunner is the snow and everything will be a damper on your fun factor with the chip...also the cold weather, i ususally let my truck warm up in stock before i go play. thats if youget cold weather where you are(forgot to check sig)

just my .02 man, i know how hard it can be reading all the reactions on here. i just got singles and a chip reburn and im still smiling.

also this might help in your quest for a chip, go to google and type in search all of craigslist. you can search the entire country for stuff that way. usually people are pretty good about shipping stuff.

also take a look at glowshift gauges, i have had them on my past 3 trucks and really like them. they are led lit and you can color match them to your gauges in your truck.

i know Jim sanders has them aswell. they run about 150 for the tripple pod, and three gauges...cant beat that.

Hey thanks . Now I am hearing that specific Superchips deal is for a 6.0 and wouldn't even work for my truck. Ugh. I am all for getting things done right the first time but I dont want to drive stock tune right now. What if I got an F5 or F6 from DP and just had one mellow tune put on it that I can run without gauges until I have the doe for gauges and and updates?

Edit: I should have seen that it said for a 2004 and up powerstroke right on the post. Must have misread the year

Last year I gave my Superchip away to someone on here after I got the AE. I ran Superchip in my truck without gauges for close to 5 years with no problems. Get the Superchip and have fun. Make sure they put the stock back in the other truck before you buy it.

You will have a code reader with the Superchip.

Bryce, check this out from the classified here on FTE. Not sure if still available.

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/9...rator-2-a.html

It is for the SCT for $150, and if i have read up carefully enough, i believe you can get some custom tunes installed on the device from some quality tuners.

For the gauges keep on looking. I just found year old ISSOPrp EVO gauges - EGT, Boost, Trans and Fuel pressure for $350, I hopefully will be able to check them out tomorrow.
