Anything electrical is not my forte, just to get that out of the way. To make a long story short, I bought a 77 F100 a few weeks ago (I'm still trying to post pictures and can't figure that out as well) and the fella told me the radio did'nt work....no problem, everything else worked fine. I figured I would start with a fuse.....simple enough. The fuse tested fine on a meter and I stuck it back in. Go to get some gas last night and turned on the heater and the fan would'nt work. The two are unrelated via the fuse are'nt they? Was this just coincidental? Am I going to have to remove the instrument bezel and radio to check and see if I'm "hot" to the switch, or will the A/C-Heater controls slide out and leave the radio alone?
On 77 I don't know on a 79 , yes . If it has the factory air with the big box in the engine compartment, you better hope it's not the blower motor.if it is , you may not want to be called "Luckyjoe"
That's the way my "luck" usually runs. Try to fix one thing and two go bad. Thanks for the relay info, that will be helpful. I've got a 79 Ford Light Truck shop manual, so I should be able to get a pretty good idea where to look. Thanks again!
They are different. On non-AC the blower motor sticks through the firewall. On AC equipped trucks the blower motor is burried inside the evaporator housing.
Here is an illustration from the Ford parts catalog of the AC evaporator housing.

The '77's have a blower relay that goes bad. Its buried in the dash too but its not as hard to change as the blower motor.
Hi mikeo0o0o0 I have a 77 that is in need of a blower motor relay, who ever jacked up the wiring b4 i got'er took out the relay and bared a few wires from the relay plug and taped them together anyways do u know where i could find a new relay?
You should still be able to get the relay at any GOOD auto parts store, either that or look for an auto a/c parts supplier.
Plus, if you can't locate one, Flex-a-lite makes a universal a/c fan relay that you could probably make work.
