my latest idea is to build triangulated traction bars

parts list per side:

1 set of these in 3.5 " (iirc) Radius Arm / Ladder Bar Mounts (2 pieces)... they will weld to the axle and hold 2 bar ends

1 of these ...Heavy Duty Frame Link Mount

2 of these ... 1.25" Square tube adapter

2 of these... Ballistic Forged Poly Bushing 2.63"

then just some square tubing ... i know this is all over kill but thats how i roll

ps BJ lets see this burban im bagging my super duty right now

I built mine a couple of months ago from the joints and brackets the guy gave me that I got my lift kit from. I used 2'' schedule 80. I would use something bigger than that 1.25'' especially if its schedule 40, unless you have several full sticks of it, then you could built some triangle type bars. My truck is a ext cab shortbed and I believe the lengths of my tubing where something like 70" or so putting my total bar length close to 7'. I chose that length because I welded all my brackets to the axle and the frame and this is the length that worked out right to get an angle pretty close to my driveshaft and worked out just right on placement of my brackets on the frame. That length is long enough to prevent binding and allow plenty of articulation.

So is longer better? If I do go shorter then that will I still get full articulation? The pipe was free and It is schedule 80 but will it still work. I have to admit,it does look a little small.

i would not use 1.25 but the bars i speak of are double bars that are triangulated so it would be much more torsionally rigid than a single bar

Nevermind, i over looked the picture in the other site. Would welding them to the top of the axle make any sence for ground clearence and how would that affect strength
