Dentside to bumpside conversion

My nephew and I are going to take a 76 f-150 4x4 and put a 68 f-100 body on it. They are both std. cab long beds. Is this going to require a lot of modification? I'm just talking body swap, no other modifications. I knew I will have wiring work to do, and changing the fuel filler a bit, but I'm asking about body mount locations.

Thanks for all the help

there is a lot of threads about this if you search you will find them. but the cab and front clip will bolt right up the bed will have to have new holes drilled in it to bolt on. and there will be 2 or 3 inches between the bed and the cab.

As 67 stated the cab front clip are bolt hole exchange. I would suggest lifting them together rolling one chassis out and the new one under to keep from all the re-alignment issues.

In 73 4" was added to the rear of the cab beyond the mounts. This stretches the chassis and is where you will have to deal with body lines. Adding plates and drilling holes for the bed holes to line up shouldn't be much issue. As long as it isn't a show truck, it shouldn't be a real biggie.

I belive that you will have about an inch or 2 extra on the wheelbase, but if your figuring on a body lift at the same time probably won't even notice any differance

Thank you to all that replied. We have decided not to do the conversion.... at least not yet. He is going to drive the 70 around for a bit and if he really needs disk brakes and power steering we might do it....

Thanks again!!
