Towing Package
My '97 Expy did not come with the towing package option. I would like to add it now. Do I just need the trailer hitch and the transmission cooler? Do I really need the transmission cooler at all? Which hitch is the one that Ford furnishes? Thanks

My opinion is to always get the tow package reguardless of whether you plan on towing or not. Reason is just because of the trans cooler. Heat is what kills an automatic tranny so keeping it cool is the key.
Going by my above statement, get the trans cooler. I also think up until this year Ford was using a class III hitch. As of 2001 they say they are using a class IV, but looking at the hitch I can't tell the different between them.
