Brake light stays on
It could be because when you pull the brake release it doesn't come back up all the way. That's what happened to me and it ended up being that the driver side emergancy cable was broken. There can be lots of other reasons but the most frequent cause usually is that the rubber plug on the top side of the pedal falls off causing it not to press the switch just above it causing the brake light to stay on. BTW have you checked you brake fluid level?
