Ok guys I am new to the ford world so my question is I will be getting an 2012 Fx4 eco wich comes standard with the Trailer Tow Package. My question is what is different from the Max Trailer Package. From Fords website it says:
Trailer Tow Package
Class IV hitch
7pin harness
Upgraded radiator
auxiliary transmission oil cooler with select shift
Max Trailer Tow Package
Class IV hitch
7pin harness
Upgraded radiator
auxiliary transmission oil cooler with select shift
Side mirrors that telescope
and have memory.
so why can the Max tow pull 11200 and the Trailer tow only do 9500?

 

In FX4 Screw Shortbox the Max Tow over standard tow adds:
1. Upgraded hitch (bumpers are the same)
2. Upgraded engine and transmission cooling.
3. Tow mirrors
4. Brake controller
5. Increased rear springs (about 400 lbs more payload)
6. EcoBoost is part of the Max Tow pkg.

 

Thanks for the info what about drive shafts the standard tow is aluminum is the max tow steel?

 

AFAIK the drive shafts are the same-for the same cab/wheelbase (like super crew short box).

There "might" be a difference in materials depending on the cab/wheelbase combination?
