slow feed NOS

so, been looking into propane as most of you know. decided not to go with it due to the cost saving being minimal (meaning non existent) so i switched to natural gas research, same end on that. there just isnt any savings there to justify a $2000 system. so, decided to look into slow feed NOS. there was a guy running a system in octobers issue of DPM and havent really found much info on it. anyone here got anything on it?

haha cant you just hook up a barbecue tank, set it up to turn on with the dial like on the grill and hook up the feed into the top of the air intake? lol. how else would you do it with propane? That isnt 2000! haha

with propane, the system is only a few hundred bucks but the problem lies in this. propane only has 2/3 the btu's as diesel. so adding propane, turning the diesel down will cost you the same IF you get propane at 2/3 the price of diesel. so if your paying more then 2 for propane and 3 for diesel then your just braking even, and adding more egt's. natural gas is the same exact issues. diesel here is 2.99 a gallon, propane and natural gas are 2.36-2.50 a gallon so you'd be loosing money

you'd get nothing but black smoke if you didnt. adding fuel without adding air, you cant burn the excess fuel.

We would be like the persian empire from 300......our diesel soot will blot out the sun......the hippies will cry in the shade bwahahahahah

I have been wondering about the also. I have no idea about the price of nitrous or anything. But I have been wondering if the fuel mileage benfits would make up for the amount of and cost of nitrous used. Not to mention the nice gain in horsepower that would come along with it.

well i have searched into spraying nos on this truck but the amount i would spray would be to much for her without some internal mods which will come later when i get enough extra dough but if you do a slow feed it would be benificial i would think but im gunna have a double tank 3 stage setup for me to be able to hit 3rd stage and push huge *** power and probabaly find a idi weak link lol it will cost around 2300 for the sytem i want

I used to run a ATS setup on a truck i sold and it made a pretty good change in fuel mileage, propane completes the diesel burn going from about 80% to near 100% complete burn, it would only blow black smoke right when it kicked on but not to much afterwards no matter how much throttle you gave it, as far egt's they really didnt go up all that much.

well yeah i would think that if you just eased the propane in till it was just completing the burn, that wouldnt be that much propane would it?
