I know its trans-related (E4OD). Coming home, I lost all drive. No gear's. Luckily, I was coming down my street and just coasted in front of my house. I shut it down and see her pissing fluid all over the ground. It was near the starter area. It was pouring rain, so I couldn't get under there to check out what actually broke. Which brings me here...
What could be in the area that could of broke? The only thing I can think of would be the trans cooler hard lines. I think they might of corroded and just burst under the pressure.
ouch, when my torque converter blew it dumped all kinds of fluid everywhere. For your sake i hope it is just a line but that sounds just like my issue i had. Damn e4od transmissions, once they have been properly rebuilt, they are bullet proof. stock they are crap. hope it is minor for your sake!
if you do have to either get it rebuilt or are going to have to get a new one, make sure it is one that is done right. They can be the best on the road but dont ask that of a stock one. Again, best luck, someone needs some haha

We'll find out tomorrow in the morning when it's dry out...
That can be replaced alone, no need for a full rebuild. Still gotta pull the trans tho.
It's not worth it. It blew for a reason. Plus the truck has 215k on it, could still be the original trans for all I know. It shifted ok, but could tell it was starting to show it's age. I got a local guy that'll build me a trans for $1200 and comes with a 2 year / 25k mile warranty.
get a bts e4od he is where mines goin when it bites it it is a fully built bulletproof tranny for 3400 not bad and gotta love a 1000hp rating torque conveter in it also
that does make sense, when you lots the fluid levels, it just couldnt shift so you lost all gears. Man i hope its that simple. To do that even at a shop shouldnt be that much.

I'm gonna pull the trans myself. Done it plenty of times in my mustang (swapping it from the AOD to T-5, then the T-5 to the tremec 3550). I'll be able to see the seal once the TC is off. So then I'll know.
