towing capabilities

I am considering buying a 2005 f150 with the 5.4 liter engine, I would like to get some feed back from those of you who have towed fifth wheel trailers. Mine is a 27' low profile, would the 5.4 be large enough or should I consider the 5.8?

Do you have any info regarding the weight of that trailer? And will you be towing only a couple times a year or more frequently?

While F150's are very capable machines, it's possible that a F250 might make more sense. All depends on what your towing plans are.

And by the way the 5.8 has been gone from the F150 line up since the mid/late 90's.

SVT is right on the money. Most likely the F150 would be great for you but if you are talking about towing this trailer every weekend then yeah it might make more sense to go with the 250.

x3 on the F250. If you're pulling anykind of 5th wheel, you'd be better off looking at the 250. Depending on what you're hauling in that 27 footer, you'll be close to the payload capacity of the 150.
