I'm the first one at this dealership and the technician must have liked it because he put about 20 miles on the darn truck.
Anyway the good:
the jerking when going from D to N or to R is gone
it seems to idle quieter
it shifts smooth as silk
it spins the tires through 3rd gear if you want
Not so good
I'm going to be wearing out my brakes slowing down all the time
I need to try out the tow mode and see if anythings different.
unfortunately MyKey doesn't allow for a de-tuned state. It seems targeted at teenagers, limiting overall speed to 65(?) and changing certain other behaviors. For instance, it can force the seatbelt reminder to stay on until the seatbelt is actually buckled rather than timing out after X seconds.
I think it's 80 mph limit with mykey.
It warns at certain speeds up to 80 with a chime.
I would like the ability to set it at 60 or so.
Detuning it would be great, too...
Glad to hear it's good for you. I think it's much better. I agree that the shifting is better.
I'm the first one at my dealer too and the diesel tech. had to download the latest software to his computer to manage the tune for the 6.7. He laughed and told me his boss is really pissed 'cause he is going to have to buy the tech. a new laptop to handle the new info coming down the pipe. My tech's old one is really struggling. Kinda funny.
That's why it took so long for me to get mine. The tech tried and they realized how out of date their's was, then once they got it it took them a week to get the software right. Once they got one of the truck on the lot reflashed they called me, so technically I was second, but I was the first customer.
