so i got the panels from ebay. 2008 king ranch set for crew cab superduty. the rear door panels fir perfectly, you just need to remove the door handle cup thingy for them to fit. plugs are the same and it just plugs right in.
passenger front fits, but again you need to remove the door handle cup thingy. upon installation i found that the new panels are slighty bigger than the old ones where the oor handle is, so i put about 1/2" worth of washers in for spacing. window switchs use the same plug so no problems there. but the door lock switch is way different. went to ford to try and get the correct harness side plug but the said its incorperated into the harness and cant get it by itself....and ideas or suggestion on how to make it work? as far as clearence issues ive seen people concerned about, the new panels hit the dash but very little. nothing really to be concerned with in my opinion.
and for the driver door i am still waiting on parts from ford as follows:
08 window switch harness side plugs (x2)
08 power mirror switch assembly and plug
08 wing panels with tweeter mounts (x2)
does anybody know where i might find the wiring diagrams online for the driver door window switches, locks and mirrors? i plan on re-using the stock wiring on the truck just re-pinning the 08 plugs.
thanks ill post pictures when its all finished should be later this week. any help would be great.
does anybody have access to alldata or the motorcraft technical section or any other online place where they would have driver door wiring schematics? i have gotten the parts from ford, but testing for voltage and continuity in the harness and switches is a PITA!
thanks guys
I know this is an old thread but did this ever get done? I just bought a set of (4) 2008-2011 Door panels to put into my 2002 F350 and I want to be ready for the rewire when they get here. I also have some power fold/telescoping mirrors headed my way that I will need to tie into the switches in the new panel
Im interested to know how you got the door locks and mirror switch working with the parts you ordered. Do you have part numbers and cost of items?
Thanks,
-Jared
I am also interested i just got a set of Panels for my 04 and i would like to install them once winter is over because one of mine is currently broken and it rattles and drives me nuts! lol
I found some parts numbers for the pigtail to the door lock switch. It's WPT-874 or WPT-982 (should be same part just old and new #s). This is the small 4 pin connector.
The 8 pin mirror connector is part# WPT-219.
*Edit* Look a few posts down for my cheap alternative method.

Awsome! is that the only thing that needs to be switched or does the mirror switch need to be wired as well? i know you just repin the window switches
You will need a new pigtail for the mirror also if you have an '05 and older. Mirror part # is WPT-219 i believe. If you have any descent junkyards around you might find the parts you're looking for there. They seem to be used on many of the ford vehicles of the era.
ok, unfortunatley i do not they only have small cars and trucks of my year if they even have any because whenever i go they have already been stripped of everything useful. i have an 04 so does that mean i need to make a seperate plug for the mirrors since i currently have only 2 plugs that connect to my mirror, lock and window switch?

Yes, the mirror switch connector on the '08+(maybe '06+) panel is a different connector than the '05 and older models. I'm not sure what yours look like either for repinning the window switches. My 2005 F250 King Ranch has 4 connectors for the switch panel. I have a blue, green, gray, and white connector. Gray and blue should be for windows, green for door locks, and white for mirrors. I'm not positive about this though. I'm now using the blue and green connectors for the 2008+ windows. The gray and white are not used for 2008.
Here is a pic of them before I changed to the 2008 panel:
For those looking to go the cheap route on the mirror and door lock connectors a floppy drive power connector from a computer will fit.
It's called a berg, mini-molex, or SP4 connector. It is only a 4pin connector but looks like they can be put back to back with some slight modification to work for the mirror. It fits perfectly into the door lock switch. It doesnt have the locking tab but it fits nice and snug. The pins on the mirror switch are a little wider/thicker than the holes in the floppy connector. So I removed the pins from the floppy connector and drilled the holes in the plastic out a bit to accommodate the larger pins of the mirror switch and it worked. They are real cheap. I am going to buy a few of these and try it out: Power Converter Cable, Molex 4 pin to Floppy Power Connector - PI Manufacturing Corp.
I'll post back when I get them installed.

Awesome! Let id know hoe it goes! In regards to the picture below I.have an extended cab so I only have the green and grey connectors
*EDIT* I changed the info for 2005 door lock switch. The diagram I pulled my info from appears to have a typo for the lock/unlock color code at the switch location. I traced the diagram further back and found the correct info. (1/29/12)
Here's the color codes and Pin number layout of each connector:
