Need help leviling kit 2004 f150

Need some good advice out there. Have a 2004 ford 150 4x4 want to put 35in tires on heard that you could put a leveling kit in the front and that 35in tires would fit. How wide of a 35in tire could I go without rubbing? would like to hear from somebody who has done this dont want to buy tires and then they dont fit. Thanks...

Every truck is a little different from the next. You should be able to use a 3" kit in the front, with a 1" block in the rear (or an add-a-leaf) and fit a 35x12.50" on a 17 or 18"' wheel.
Your particular application may rub, or it may not. Seems like most owners that run a 35x12.50" have rub at full lock.
Check out the leveling kits from Daystar and Readylift. Some guys are running the Hell Bent Steel (found on ebay) for much less $$.
Don't forget an alignment.
Enjoy!

It also is different on how much or how little of rubbing you get based on it you still have stock rims or have already or are going to change the rims to something else. Plus all tires are just a bit different and some will not rub while another brand may rub a little bit.

MCDavis is correct in that with a 3" kit and a 1" rear block you can put 35" tires but you can also get them on with a 2.5" kit and no rear block but it is just that much tighter.

If you put on a 3" Leveling kit with 1" blocks in the back, do you need to change your shocks?

Also, I have been able to find several 3" leveling kits, but no 1" rear blocks...Does anyone have a link?

OK no you do not need to change your shocks with the 3" kit and 1" block. This is the setup I am running and I still have my factory shocks on the truck and they work just fine. The 1" block is not apart of the kits it was something I did because once the 3" kit was on my back end was down just a bit from the front. This is not always true. You could put the 3" kit on and it be perfectly level. You could also run into this problem if you put on a 2.5" kit in some cases. The 1" block is most likely something you will not find online you will most likely have to go to a parts store to get it. There is a kit that comes with a 3" and an add-a-leaf spring for the rear and I want to say its rough country and autospring but don't quote me on that.

Ok. Thanks!

I was able to find a 3" leveling lift and a 1" rear block packaged together for relatively cheap. The kit is from "Fat Bob's" for $189.99.

Ford F150 3" Front 1" Rear Steel Lift Kit 4WD 2004-2008 -- Fat Bob's Garage Online Store

I would really like to run 35's but I'm worried about them rubbing. The tire that I'm looking at is the General Grabber AT2. They make a 35x12.50x18 that will fit on the stock rim, and they say that the tire diameter is 34.8. So maybe since it is on the lower end of 35" rather than the high, maybe it won't rub.

I would really like to find someone that is running a 3"/1" leveling kit with 35"...

35's will rub realy bad even though they fit.

You can get great deal on Ebay for leveling kits. But as far as rubbing you will for sure rub and bad with 35's. Do you have the plastic fender flares from the factory? My truck is 4x4 with a 6" lift with 35's and 12" wide wheels and they rub sometimes on certain angles even in a parking lot. Seeing my truck is twice as tall as this leveling kit i think you will be disappointed especialy if you go offroad. Fork out the $ and buy a suspenion kit. You can find them as low as $1200 on ebay also.

Here is a link for great "buy now" not auction leveling kits on ebay. Good luck but the 35's for sure will rub. maybe even 33's a little but might be more tolerable.

Yes, mine does have the factory fender flares, but when I put the leveling kit on with the wider tired, I would really like to go to the Bushwacker Pocket-style Fender Flares.

I would love to get a suspension lift, but I just bought my truck and the leveling kit is 1/6th the price of the suspension, not to mention the installation time which costs $$$.

It all depends on the wheel offset. If you retain your stock wheels, depending on the tire, you can fit 35's without rubbing (provided you have a leveling kit). Just FYI

I have an '06 Lariat with the Ford chrome wheels. I really like them, so I intend on keeping them, just adding larger tires; either 33's or (preferably) 35's.

This isn't as common as some people might make you think.

If you keep the stock rims or get a rim with close to the same offset and stick to something like 295/70's then the rubbing with be next to nothing. The rubbing occurs more when you go with the 12.5" tires on a offset rim. The 295/70's are just under 35" so still a large tire and good for what most people do.

i have 315/70/17 (34.75 high and like 12.6 wide) and a 2.5 level and after cutting less than one inch off the corner of the plastic under the bumper and i can go lock to lock without any rubbing, if you look at some of my pics you will see i test if they will rub by stuffing them as far as they will go in the wheel wells. if yours hits with 6in of lift i would be calling the company that made them!
