57-60 Cutom Cab Steering Wheel
The 57/58's had black steering wheels, while 59/60's had white ones.In addition, the Custom Cabs had horn rings, while standard cabs had only a horn button.I believe this to be correct.
Are the steering wheels the same, except for color, and able to accept either a horn ring or horn button, depending on trim level?I'm asking because black ones are being reproduced/sold,but I've not seen white ones.I would like to have a backup one in white, would repaint a black one if it's the same.Suicide ,or n****r *****,as we grew up calling them, chew up steering wheels.I need to have a spare on hand for a quick swap ,not taking time to restore mine.

I've got a '60 wheel with horn ring and it is quite different in construction than the standard wheel with button. I believe that Ford used the same standard black truck steering wheel (with button only) for many years for trucks and it would not accept the type of horn ring my '60 wheel has.

I know this reply is a year over due. I was too busy finishing my truck last year at this time to be on here much.
I have a white 60 custom cab wheel and a black standard 60 wheel. I believe the black wheel to be the same as those used previously by Ford. The black one will not accept the horn ring. The white one has relief sections on each spoke to accept the horn ring where the black one dose not. As far as I know, the black one can only use the button, which would be an okay spare to the white one is repaired!
