engine mounts and pedestals
hate to beat a dead horse believe me but i've done the search and asked the question before and cant seem to get an answer. Im in the process a swapping a 460 into my 71 F250 4x4 and i have all i need except for one thing. Will my pesdestals work or do i need to find aftermarket ones? I know about the mounts, pan and pickup, but i just need to know about the pedestals. thanks in advance

I have swapped many engines in 67-79 Ford f100-250 4x4's and all I ever did was move the frame perches, sometimes the holes line up and some times they don't, If they didn't I just welded them to the frame. I have never had a problem with this method.

If I remember correctly from an answer by Number Dummy, he said that the 460 towers for a 460 equipped 75-79 2wd are the same as the towers for a 351M/400 2wd, then it can be correlated that the 4wd 351M/400 towers can be used for a 460 4wd?

that makes sense mine had FE power to begin with though. on the L&L site they have a kit for $275 that has the towers and mounts, but also you can just buy the mounts and in the description it says that 4wd use the original towers. i think i will buy the L&L mounts and go for it and if necessary i can double back and get the towers also
