Spray-In bedlining costs

I have a drop-in plastic bed liner in my truck right now which im looking to take out and replace with the spray in bed liner. Preferably rhino liner because my dads truck is 6 years old and his rhino lining looks brand new still. How much do places charge for this (short bed) or how much would it be to do it myself and would i need any odd equipment? Thanks

Last month lineX was still $450. Its worth it though. Much better than the rest imo.

Typically $400-450 for most shops.

I have to say I don't recommend Line-X as (at least the local place by me) they won't stand behind their warranty (guaranteed not to come off). Case in point:

My father in law bought an F-150 and had a Line-X liner put in. After a few months of being used like a truck, we noticed some of the liner had scraped off, and taken some of the paint with it. We took it in and they inspected it and said 'you scraped it off, we won't cover that.' After a long discussion where we pointed out that they claim it won't come off no matter what, including regular use, and yet obviously this came off, we ended up leaving with a promise of giving them PLENTY of bad advertisement.

Just a warning about Line-X. No experience with Rhino. There is a roll-on, DIY kit out there (I forget who makes it) that we have put in a few of our trucks which seems to hold up quite well though, and costs about $80-120 depending on where you get it and the length of your box.

Sounds like a bad dealer, I would still go with Line-X.

I've used both, and you can scrape, scratch, and ding both of them. I had a bicycle pedal take a chunk out of a hard line-x, but I never messed up my Rhino. I'm sure I could have though. I'd only get one from a dealer who has been in business for 5 years or more, which, in this case, means through this recession. They come and go all the time, and don't like to warranty each others work.

I've had both on past and current trucks. The Line-X is a harder material, takes allot to gouge it. The Rhino is a softer compound and can gouge easier. Both can fade over time unless you get the UV inhibitor, then it will stay black for much longer.

If you ask your Ford dealer which Rhino or Line-X dealer they recommend, the dealer may give you a discount. I paid $350 for my install doing exactly that.

I'm doing herculiner next spring myself. Under $150. and you don't have to drop off the truck and leave it for a day. Its a roll on so no worries about over spray. As with anything if its prepared properly it will stick as good as some joe shmoe doing it. Plus you'll have some left over for repairs and won't have to deal with someone saying its not covered.
