01 thermometer trouble
Hey guys, I have 2001 f-150 supercrew with the digital thermometer. Just recently it started to go nuts on me. Some days its ok and it's within a few degrees but other it will peg out to 140. Has anyone else had this trouble? Is it the unit in the cab or possibly the sending unit came loose and is sitting cloer to the engine? If anyone has any input it would be great.

I am thinking that you mean the outside temp readout. The sensor is mounted forward of the radiator on the radiator support.
The varied readout makes me think that there is possibly a wiring problem.
Get one at your local parts yard for a couple of bucks or they are $16 at Auto Zone.
