I am thinking just the opposite, I don't want to know when they break into it or someone else to know (such as loud alarm). If they are going to break into it I want them to take the entire truck and I do NOT want it back.
I have really good insurance so I will let them replace the truck and then I will have no worries about damage done or trying to have it fixed.

My 2011 SD is 1 month old and I came out of best buy and the lights were flashing. Someone broke into it thru the drivers door. Popped the lock. After $300 to replace door handle and rekey and $500 for new alarm no-one can get withen 18" of my truck and all hell breaks loose.
I know the feeling! That happened to me...but in my own drive-way. My '03 didn't have an alarm...so I went with an OEM FORD unit...with the engine disable feature. I figure any alarm will not stop someone from breaking in, but it might stop them from driving off.
I also installed the jimmi jammers while the new door handles/locks were installed.
Good luck...

I put the Jimmi Jammers in my 08 today.. 45min total. hardest one was the drivers door with the keylock . and I started there, doah!..
got to loosen the top nut and pull the bottom one to slide the bracket in.
the drivers door with the lock also gets the clamp around the lock assembly.. I had a pair of long needle nosed pliers (10in), and made holding the clamp a lot easier while tightening.

- 4 screws each front door, 3 rears,
- lift door panel,
- unhook wires,
- peal back the water barrier,
- pop the plug on the door shell to get to the top nut (7/16 socket by the way)
- remove the bottom nut,
- push the handle out a little,
- slide the bracket on,
- put the lower nut back on,
- hold bracket and tighten lower,
- then upper nut.
- seat the waterproof shell,
- hang the door on by the lower hooks,
- clip the wires back in,
- and rehang the door panel (push the lock button down first).

Agreed, and worse will get worse. Radio show I listen to often says "Cops are there to just clean up after a criminal act, you are there to put a stop to it"! If it was old west justice, there would be no stealing!

Blue Sea, a high quality electrical supplier for the marine industry now makes a remote control battery disconnect switch.
Something to consider - putting it in line with the 12+ cable to the starter.
