Yet again

Well,
Yet another run in with our local people-- that involved Wichita PD. This time in Churches Chicken. A guy started beating his wife/girlfriend/hooker/crack *****/whatever? For bringing liver to the table not Gizzards. Since his pants where well down past his butt I saw he had no weapons. He was 5ft nothin and about 120-150lbs- SO I am a little bigger then he was. When he raised his hand for the 3rd time I was already behind him grabbed his hand and placed it "gingerly" behind his back. Held him there until PD arrived. His wife/girlfriend/hooker/crack *****/whatever? Called me every name in the book (instead of thanking me) Telling me I should let him go before he gets mad. As he was screaming at me to let him go-- I thought to myself I got him now what? How long till PD arrives? How long can I hold him-- What do I do if I can't hold him? He kept saying I broke his arm-- Call the police he broke my arm! I knew I didn't-- didn't hear that distinctive pop! Luckily it wasn't long at all until wichitas finest showed. The guy from churches (which had on a shirt that says "CHICKEN GENIUS" BTW-- Had said somone stabbed somone-- so the police where there pretty quick.

Well I guess the guy can acctually press charges against me for assault. (I didn't think of that) but they doubt he will. Turns out the guy has 2 warrants against him, so I might be elegible for a crimestoppers award. But since I didn't call it in they weren't sure.

The officers that responded to the call said I was pretty brave because I was the "minority" in that neighborhood. I said I wasn't brave-- I actually didn't think. I saw a threat and nuetralized it. Luckily the other 2 patrons didn't want any part of it.

On a side note when somone calls me a cracker and I supposed to be really really offended? Is that more of a southern thing?

Long story short no stab wounds and a very slim chance of asssault charges- Possible cash- and a slightly aggitated wife.

Really? No cracker is offensive to a degree but 99% of the time its usually not worth getting worked up over.
Heck in elementary school I was called cracker from 1st grade to 5th grade and never got in to a fight over it.

Sighs Chad is becoming another Celebrity or a Vigilante. Yes Chad it's sad that a criminal like the one you held down can sue you even tho he was assaulting his whatever she is and you being an outstanding citizen step-in to help her. So she should be thankful but in the end she probly post his bail.

that's a bunch of bull spit... if the guy was already slappin his woman around he already had all the stress and mental anguish that was present, you were just protecting that woman from being his punching bag.

I guess the message here is you have to wait to be a good samaritan until somebody is in read danger of serious injury or death…not just in danger of being hurt. Regardless of how it comes out for you, if you know what you did was the right thing to do then try to have some peace of mind if you can; nobody can take the moral high ground from you. I have to say it’s a sad day when bad people like the guy you stopped can make a quick buck off an honest person....and how screwed up is that guy and his woman anyway?!

I doubt he'll actually be able to do it. First he would have to get a lawyer and i doubt he has the money for that. Second no Lawyer is gonna do it pro bono not for $45,000 that wouldn't even cover the fee's because those types of cases can get dragged on for months or it might take up to a year or more. I'm not saying forget it but don't let it stress you out.

Find the meanest nastiest lawyer around if you have to go that route.

Do you have a copy of the police report?
