i need some information

i went and looked at a 2001 expedition xlt 4x4 today because im in the market for a newer truck.

i was fairly happy with the expedition except for the fact it had a 4.6 in it... i dont have any experience with the 4.6... so how much have u all been able to tow with it?

the most ill be towing is about 4,500 pounds give or take a few.... its a dirt track car with an open trailer

about what sorta MPG's are u all getting with the 4.6? i know its not a gas sipper... im just looking for averages

thanks for your time

If you are going to tow regularly I think a truck with the 5.4 is a better choice. You get a stronger engine, transmission and rear end over the 4.6 trucks. There are tons of used Expys out there for decent money, I would keep shopping.

My truck with the 5.4 gets about 13 city, 18 hwy.
