power steering

I have a 1980 F150 with an inline 300 6cyl 4 speed, i recently had to change the power steering gear box and when i was removing it all 3 mounting bolts snapped. I don't have any clue as to what the blots i need are. I have checked local hardware stores and auto parts stores and they don't seem to have any idea because most of the threaded end of the bolts broke off in the old gear box and i turned that in for my new gearbox's core charge. can anyone help me find the correct bolts for this?

The best is to go to a wrecking yard & find a similar F150-F350 & get the bolts. I cant remember the lengths & believe the bolts are 3/8 SAE. Maybe 7/16 SAE.

well i have the length i need. and i bought some that were 7/16 and they didn't fit ill have to give the 3/8 a shot. thank you for your help man.

Welcome to FTE

Why buy rusty 'ol used bolts in a wrecking yard when you can waltz on down to your local hardware store and match them up?

The original bolts are 7/16" but this is the thread size, not the wrench size. If you go by the wrench size, the thread size will be larger than 7/16"
