I plugged in "dashpot" in the search box at Autozone and a universal one from Holley came up. I don't know if it will fit or not, but you could take a look and see if it would. The 4180 is a Holley carb so there is a chance it might fit.
Can anyone tell me the correct part number for this item ?. I need to start looking..thanks..JV
I can give you the Ford part number, see if it's available, list the sources that have some if it isn't, but...
The ONLY way to look up carburetor parts in Ford parts catalogs after 1979 is either by the carb ID tag number, or by using the vehicles specific Calibration Code.
Beginning in 1980, there were no longer any application charts for carb or emission parts. It was a PITA back then and it's a PITA today.
This is why I don't post too often in the 1980 and later forums, because I need either the ID number off the part, the carb tag number, or the fracatta Calibration Code.
And...there can be as many as THIRTY different Calibration Codes for just one specific year vehicle with the same engine, trans and etc. I kid you not.
So, if you don't have the carb ID number, I will attempt to look up the part without it, but there is no guanantee this will be possible. And...sold new in CA...or not...also makes a difference.
In this case, I need the truck's specific year, series, engine size, and...sold new in CA or not. I cannot go by Motorcraft 4180, there are too many variations.
Called Greens with the part # from Bill..and the carb. tag info.. Had ONE..$25.00..I'm having Pony Carbs. build a Motorcraft 4180 to go on my bone stock '84..351 HO..When they get done..it's like a completely different carb...Thanks again to Bill..This is the second time he has helped me...JV
