Auto door locks

Man, i love my ford truck,, first diesel i've had and its nothing like it.. but......
Atleast a million times a day i reach to get in the back door and its locked. If i put the truck in drive and go 3 feet,, its locked. So attempt to open back door,, its locked,, open drivers door, unlock,, and then back to back door. grrrrrr. Is there a way to defeat this??? Is there any way to un do the automatic door locks. thanks.

AUTOLOCK ENABLE/DISABLE - USING THE HARDWIRED KEYLESS ENTRY KEYPAD
A manual enable/disable mode allows the autolock feature to be turned off and on.
1. Enter the 5-digit permanent entry code into the keyless entry keypad.
2. Within 5 seconds of entering the code, press and hold the 7/8 button on the keypad.
3. Within 5 seconds of Step 2, and while holding the 7/8 button, press the 3/4 button on the keypad and release it.
4. Within 5 seconds of Step 3, release the 7/8 button on the keypad.
If the autolock feature is disabled, the horn will chirp once. If the autolock feature is enabled, the horn will chirp once shortly and then sound a second time for a longer sound of the horn once the above sequence is completed.

Just tried this and it worked, but it also seemed to have stopped my keyless remote from working entirely.

Any ideas?

My keyless still works after doing this. Not sure why yours wouldn't. On the past F150, my key less controller quit working, and used my wife's, Hers was rarely used and it worked. Might be timing?

I got the remote to work again by going through the process and hitting LOCK in step 8 twice.

Very frustrating because I really wanted to autolock to be disabled, but not more than I need the damn remote to work.

Any ideas?

If you have the owners manual it's in there. Happy Turkey Day to all.

Auto lock

I went through the process in the owner's manual and it would not disable the auto-lock. The dealer, at no charge, hooked a laptop computer up and disabled it. Since I had bought the truck used, I did not have the code for the keypad. They were able to read out the code and tell me what it was.

Yep. I realized this. Took three seconds to change now that I realized this was how it needed to be done. Duh...
