speedometer problems
I'm having problems with my speedometer. It was working for the past year, just off by 5mph. It jumped \ lagged a few times while driving in the last few weeks, then it would only read 8mph no matter how fast I was driving. Swapped out sending cable today and now only go 22mph. There seemed to be no damage to the plastic gear in trany. Any ideas? Is the speedometer gage bad, how can I check? Thanks, Kevin.

Sounds like you need to pull the speedometer and send it to a shop to be cleaned and recalibrated.
Most larger towns have at least one shop that can do it, or you can pick up a copy of "Hemmings" and find a shop that you can send it to, or.....you can go the salvage yard route and get a different speedo.
