you could also try a new cam sensor. I really dont suggest tossing more parts at it however.
the issue can be comming from a bent or damaged tone ring as well. wich is why I suggst a lap scope. the issue is very rare but I have seen it.
by the way there are 2 sync pids.
one is sync and the other is ficm sync. is it one or both sync pids swiching?
The ficm sync goes to yes and does NOT toggle it stays on sync while engine running. Only the ckp cmp sync toggles , New harness, new ckp, new cmp, installed today
I know it is but a person should be able to repair his/her own engine especially when they have access to the knowlegde on the internet such as the individuals on this forum. I have manage to fix the vehicles Ive owned and did not have access to such knowlegde as I do today. I am willing to pay to have my truck fixed but must exhaust all chances of a fix on my own or a least a good understanding of the vehicle I drive

I do respect that. trust me I do.
without the scope.... you can try a freq metere and see if you can catch one of the sensors droping out. I have not had luck with it though.
Do you mind if I ask what the actual symptom is? All I know is that the CMP and CKP are not syncing and you have replaced some parts. Is there a runnability problem and of what kind? When hot, cold, under load, RPM? I was just reading this thread and wondering what kind of symptom you are having?
I have another thread on the symtoms but the truck starts fine and does not smoke, after warm still does smoke until you touch the accelerator and then white smoke comes out timing goes to -12.00 btdc mass fuel doubles white smoke continues until you take the rpms up and smoke stops as timing goes to close to tdc and mass fuel desired drops back to normal if you go for a drive white smoke stops and the truck has lots of power . It is not an EGR problem coolant stays constant and oil stays constant
