I have a 93 f250 diesel (7.3L) with a manual trans. I have been having trouble shifting into 2nd. When its cold it slides into gear easily but once it gets hot (I notice it most after I have been on the freeway for a little while) it doesn't want to go into 2nd I have to give it a pretty hard tug to get it to pop into gear. 3-4-5 after that I have no problems with. I checked the tranny fluid and it was full. It seems to work a little better if I push really hard on the clutch (like literally stand on it)
Any ideas or suggestions are appreciated, but a word of caution I am sort of engine disabled so you may need to explain things to me.
Check the plastic bushing that goes in the eye of the clutch master cylinder rod that hooks to the clutch peddle cross arm. It is under the dash between the brake peddle and the go peddle. It wears out and causes shifting problems.
