Great, thanks so much. I had a meeting with the owner of the dealership. He said they would go to bat for me with Ford. He also said to stay on the customer care and stay firm. He said their techs have numerous write ups talking about how cleaning the turbo does nothing. It's just Ford being cheap with the economy. He also let me into a couple of other options if all else fails...thanks again.
Same thing happen to me but the truck was in the ford dealer shop when the warranty expired. They told me that because they only cleaned the turbo and did not actually replace it, the extended 1yr warranty on replaced parts did not cover the turbo. Call customer service and got the same run around. My turbo doesn't build boost under a very specific circumstance, while towing, after it shifts into over drive at around 60 mph. It doesn't happen all the time. I can also hear the exhaust go deeper and the truck lugs.
I starting to think it is not the turbo an maybe a sensor. No codes. I do have a high pressure leak but don't think the high pressure system affects the vgt controller unless it is leaking so much that is also affecting low pressure psi. I plan on posting my symptoms and solution once I figure mine out. First I plan on fixing high pressure oil leak and cleaning the turbo my self. If that does not work I will start with the EBP tube and sensor.
Just got back from the dealer, got them to replace the EBP sensor and we also found frayed wires right at the electrical hookup on the VGT. Replaced the frayed wires and reset the codes. I talked about the computer reset and turbo relearn, but I believe they only cleared the codes with their laptop computer. After reading your other posts, I'm pretty sure they didn't do the master computer reset or the turbo relearn. According to what you've stated on how to do it, they didn't do any of that stuff. I'll keep my fingers crossed over the weekend. No codes on the way home, so if so I'll be back to do the master reset and turbo relearn. thanks for the info.

Hey, to be fair to your dealer, I am going to give them the benefit of the doubt if they put in a new EBP sensor and repaired frayed wires, they PROBABLY did the turbo relearn.
Note: the frayed wires SHOULD have been noticed on the last go around.
Unless they damaged it fresh!
But, no harm is done from doing a master reset --- did you see my new thread on that post?
I was standing right next to the tech as he did both so I know everything they did. When I pull up now, I go straight to the diesel area and the tech kinda gives me the what now. They have worked with me for the most part, besides sticking me with the bill. They have waived the labor for the last 3 visits...Big whoop after $2600 new turbo. Speaking of, I noticed the turbo they put on there was a remanufactured...any comments on that?? I thought I was getting a "new" turbo, but the cost was $1200 for the reman...Yes, I did read the new thread. I'll print it out and bring it to them if I have to make another trip.

Then... sigh...
Reman turbo--- be sure you got a WARRANTY on it.
Rickatic got burned (literally) by a bad turbo that put a blade into the combustion chamber.

I gave you plenty of ammo to get re-imbursed for the turbo. As I said, the emissions wattanty is 5 yrs and 100k miles.
