So I am finally getting some work done on the truck again. I decided my cab was going to be too much work for what time I actually had to put into it. So I found another cab for $200 almost completely rust free, it just has some minor surface rust. I have soda blasted the bottom of the new cab, epoxy primered, and painted it...now it's time to flip it back on it's bottom and finish the rest of it. Here are some pics...

Yes the epoxy laid out quite easy...right now I'm on hold until I can get a couple buddies over to help me get the cab flipped back over onto it's bottom side so I can finish body work, and paint. Then it will go back on the frame, and brake lines, and finishing the power steering is next.

Good deal. I am not going to paint my underside. I am going to epoxy prime it and then spray some undercoat/bed-liner on it though. When the time comes, that is.

Oh I know, I grew up in Augusta, KS, and this truck spent it entire life up until 2007 in Kansas...

Thanks for all the compliments everyone...I finally located all the correct brackets for my motor to finish adding power steering, so the project keeps trucking along!

I picked up a new harmonic balancer, drag link, and tie rod ends. I also have the power steering pump brackets on the way. I finally got enough friends gathered up to get the cab back on the frame...here are some pics

I was on a roll getting stuff done on the 65...I got the cab back on the frame, I got the power steering pump put on, and my father in law was in town so he helped me shorten the steering column...I had a shaft from a 79 power steering truck, so I only had to shorten the column housing itself, and I need to cut the short nub off the end of the 79 shaft, and it will work great. So here is the really crappy part, I took a break on Sunday from working on the truck to play in a basketball tournament and ended up breaking my arm! So now the progress train is stopped again! I didn't get to assemble the steering column yet, or get the power steering pump hoses and belt on yet, so her are some pics of how she sits right now

Just need to clean up the steering column bearings and it will be ready to reassemble!

Project looks good. That clean 6 cyl sure looks nice compared to my oil covered motor.

I guess you shouldn't have fouled so hard....sorry about your arm!

Good guess on the foul...I was trying to take a charge and when I fell back I put my arm down...exactly what not to do! Thanks for the compliments on the truck and motor...that was a lot of cleaning to look that good...hopefully the new gaskets and seals will keep it that way for a while!
