Hey guys, I am having a low speed front end squeak in my 2007 F-350. Most noticeably when I take off from a stop or pull into the garage. It sounds like it is coming from the front drivers side wheel area. It is not constant and will last a second or two and go away for a second or two and repeat until I am up to speed (or just not able to hear it over the motor noise). I am wondering if there are any grease zerks up there that I should hit to start ruling out things. I am fearful that I may have a hub bearing going out already with only 45,000 miles on her.
Hey Mich6.0...I grew up in Kalamazoo.....How are things back there? If it was the wear bar on the pads, wouldn't it squeal more when I am on the brakes rather then just very intermittently while I am driving? As a side note, this is the first vehicle that I have had with 4 wheel disc brakes. If I change the front pads, do I also need to change the rear pads at the same time?
No, you don't have to change front/rear at the same time.
My fronts also just started doing some rotational squeaking at slow (crawl) speeds. At least that's when I hear it. Have read either in here or up in the Super Duty thread, of others that have had the same thing. I just removed my right front wheel and pulled and measured the pads (2 days ago). Twas well within spec. I sprayed the backs of those pads with "Fluid Film" and reinstalled. So far, no squeaking from the wheel.
weather was pretty hot this summer. Like the other guy said pull the brake pads off and look at them a little dust makes alot of noise. there is a spray and a squeez bottle for brake chatter squeal i got the squeez bottle for my wifes escape was driving me crazy and she said she couldn't hear anything.
