How to compression test?
Removed all 8 glow plugs and rocker arms on cyl 2 & 4 for easier access to connect tester. Connected tester and get no pressure to gauge when I turn it over. What am I doing wrong?

I'll assume you have an adapter screwed into the GP hole. Remove the tester and place something over the hole, not your finger just in case there is pressure. If there is pressure then.......either the gauge is bad or you have a problem with that cylinder. Rings or valves.
