I don't put too much faith in the HF gauges, I have found them to be very inaccurate. Replace the gauge with an accurate one or check the accuracy before each use.
That is what he was getting at, just because your fuel pressure at idle in your driveway is at 50 PSI doesn't mean everything is ok, it needs to be tested under load at WOT.

You are correct except the number is anything less than 45 PSI can and will cause damage depending on how far below 45 it goes.
