Ok I want that intake setup you have travis that awesome.
And how is it that you don't have the filter housing anymore ?
Do you have your filter on the frame ?
is'nt the purpose of that plate for a heat shield?

The need for a "heat shield" has been tested ad nauseum and it has been found that its not necessary. Dale @ Tymar will tell you an airbox/heat shield is nothing more than restriction. Don't sweat it, you don't need a fancy schmancy box, you'll be just fine with an open element.

If it's an IDI then I'm not sure that they ever get their turbos to really sing like ours do since they only make a few lbs of boost. Take a pic of your engine and we will tell you whether it's IDI or PSD and if it's an IDI then I would ask the guys in the IDI forum that mess with them all the time.

It's a turbo IDI. If want it too whine open the exhaust completely , no muffler and make a custom intake. Lose the stock airbox completely. Check out the pre stroke section for more info. They r a very helpful bunch.

6.9 IDI turbo, "not exactly" stock.

Small.....medium pile of cash invested.
Well, actually might have been bigger than medium pile.

Runs more boost than I can make with my 97.
Whistles louder than my 97 with 4" straight exhaust and the 6637 filter.
Blows more black than my 97.

And my 97 wishes it could keep up.

I am working on the 97 though, and I have high hopes for it one day soon.
