Hi... I just bought a stock 2002 F350 Crew 4x4 diesel, and have noticed it rides lower in the front than my previous truck.. I had a 1999 F250 Supercab 4x4 diesel that was stock and was about 3 to 4 inches taller in the front. Neither truck was modified, however the F250 had the camper package. Could this be the reason for the difference? Or could there be something wrong with my spings? Only 17000 miles on the 2002. Thanks for your help!
More than likley, the 99 had the snow plow package and the 02 does not. The plow package front springs are different and make it sit higher in the front.
My 01 F-350 hase the plow package, my neighbors 02 F-250 doesn't and my truck sits about 2 inches higher in front. There isn't much difference in the rear.
Your truck sounds how mine was stock. Mine had U-code springs. If you look at the sticker on the door jamb: In the upper left corner you will see Front GAWR: xxxxlbs. mine says 4800. Also, in the lower left corner you will see something like SPR and below it 2 letters I think. Mine was U something. Hence u code springs. U codes are the lightest springs and will give your truck that raked look. If you have U codes, that is just how it'll look. You could get a leveling kit if you wanted.
Thanks for the input. I'll check the codes on the sticker.
Also, regarding my old 1999 F250, I ordered it so I know it had the camper package, and not the snow plow package, but thanks for the info.
So if I want to level my truck, what are the options? I see Superlift has a new "Superide Select Springs" 3" lift for the front that has 9 to 10 thin leaves in the pack. They also have an older 2", 5 leaf pack lift. Any one know anything about these?
Could I just go to Ford and get the camper package front springs to keep the ride stock?
seems imma have to post here, kinda new here and cant find the post BUTTON
ANYWOO.....i have a 1999 f350,sc,sd,lb.diesel 102,000 and was noticeing the camber is out, neg camber..was thinking maybe shocks, but after goin thur the forum here, seems its my springs, front is bout 3 inches lower than the rear, I had no idea the springs were the culprit glad I didnt spend the money on the aligment. This forum saved me BIG also when my CPS went out I found what the problem was HERE and fixed it myself...WOOOOHOOOOO. BTW could'nt find ANY info on ride height specs here. OOO and my door ajar lite is always on, as a result my dome lite stays on...so i took the lamp out. Wonder? should I grease all those fixings i see?...or are they all sealed?...well better git the creeper out rain day today...but not under there......THX
I have wondered the same thing re. my 05 F350 Crew. Are the "X" springs something i can order from Ford? Would my dealer install? Would it void the warranty?
Swapping in a different set of Ford springs seems so obvious. Can it be done?
WWW.POWERSTROKESHOP.COM. 2C3Z-5310-AF spring (2) 6000# springs or known as X springs, $154.32 each. F81Z-5705-ZA u-bolts (4), $15.88 each. N805480-S426 nut (8) $1.86 each. This should get your crew cab front end up there quite nicely! ( I am in no way affiliated or connected with this company I am merely passing along the information). Kelly

Forgot to mention these are the Ford part numbers! This has been about the best place to purchase without going to a Ford dealer! The Ford dealer I went to quoted twice that price for one spring ($310).
I used to have a 2002 Excursion and my dealer changed front leaf springs for me. I think I went up to code X or maybe U springs. Can't remember for sure. It raised the front about 1 3/4" and made it drive like a truck. But I liked it.
Your camper package includes a front spring upgrade and should increase ride height some. Along with maybe a rougher ride.

When I bought it, I measured what was needed to level it, and it needed right at 2".
Now, after 64,000 miles, it needs about 3 1/4" to bring back level.
My question: If I get the 3" hangers to use with the stock springs to bring it back level, will they continue to sag even more, or are they done?
