aod whine
got an 83 f100 302 aod that whines when cold in park and neutral. sounds like weeeeee.... gets really annoying. if i put it in drive it usually goes away. fluid level and type are ok and i did a trans flush a while back with a wynns machine and that really helped but it has returned since. trans is in great shape never slipped, shifted wierd, or had any other prob. replaced filter couple years ago... no material or anything wierd in the pan. has anybody else got/had this happen to them?

The whole engine runs a little differently when it's in P or N - there's no load on it. It could be something like a vacuum leak or even an ignition noise. Make sure the TV cable is adjusted properly. You should be able to find the procedure here, but it's definitely in the Haynes manual.
