I have a 1993 F 150 4x4 that I got for parts. There was an engine fire started from the battery. It has an OD auto trans, but I am not sure if it is an AOD or AODE. I have the VIN and I think the tag is still on the door post if that would help? It has a 302 in it, too. Not sure what years had what trans. Is there any sure way to tell which is which?

AOD ends 1993, AODE starts 1994.

What would the code be for AOD or AODE? I have an E4OD in my 95 F 350 and the one in the 93 is not one of those. It doesn't have the pan as big as a small bathtub.

I will go out and check it today and post what i find on the door tag.

also i think that the aode has an overdrive button on the end of the shifter and the aod doesnt

By what I have gotten here I guess it is an AOD. The trans code on the door post tag is "T", also. It appears to have a TV cable, too.
