Ok guys, need your help. Have 97 4dr 4x4 7.3 tur.Dies. auto trans. Looking at a trans rebuild. Do not want Ford oem torque converter.Can not afford 1300 T.C.. Does anyone know the size of the E40D torq.Conv. is it 12" and will a 13.5" swap with mine. Someone on this site said the 2002 model had a much stronger torq.Conv. Anyone know about that? I have to pull 7 tons at times and want a torq.conv. that will not slip, not warp, not fail. etc etc. I baby the truck when pulling, but dont want to do this again for another 200,000 mi. If you have any expierience with the after market torq.conv.er's that are somewhere in-between the factory oem and the 1400.00 baby's i would be gratefull for your help. Also, If I wanted a little more juice out of my moter, anyone got some input on chips would be appreciated. Oh, forgot all the clutch-pack stuff and pump bands. Help there too. I guess I am a poor man wanting a rich mans toys,,, however, we operate a foster home for kids and I guess I need a few upgrades in tranny but have to watch my wallet also. Thanks.
