Also, mine is an e99... the spider is different, not only because the plenums have a smaller ID, but the turbos are smaller and sit lower on my truck than the later trucks. I've got some grommets from a spare fuel pump bracket I have. I might put those on later...
any chance i could get that parts list too...im interested in doing one, but still trying to wrap my head around the front and rear plugs. i always like doing/making my own parts...email - browniec83@gmail.com...if you can...thanks alot...
Fuel Bowl and Head Fittings
4-ea: 1/8NPT male to female 45* fittings
4-ea: 1/8NPT male to 1/4" hose barb straight fittings
1-ea: 1/8NPT male to female 90* fitting
1-ea: 3/8" compression cap (hardware store item)
On the regulator fittings: the Aeromotive regulator I bought had 6AN ports so unless you get the same regulator, you'll have to get adapters that work accordingly. A note on AN fittings: 4AN is 1/4", 6AN is 3/8". That's why I used the different sizes on the regulator ports... supply lines were 1/4" and the return line was actually 5/16", but I couldn't find a 5AN/5/16" fitting (not sure if it even exists... haha) so I just used a 6AN/3/8" fitting for the return line. It fits over the 5/16 easy and since the return really isn't under any significant pressure, it really isn't an issue. I've never had any issues with leaks. As for clamps, you can use use the worm gear clamps, but I don't like them and yeah, I have them. At the time, it was all I could get. What you want is the fuel injection clamps. Most places won't know what you're talking about, but they do stock them. They look like this: link
The hose and the rest of the brass fittings can be gotten at pretty much any parts store except for the compression cap (hardware store item). Most people don't know what they are so you'll have to dig around for it... they're usually with the brass compression fittings (for tubing). Hopefully this covers most of it and should get you started... if I missed anything or you have any questions, just let me know!
I have done this mod following Jon's write up and it works great
I went with crimped lines with JIC #4 fittings on all connetions exsept out from the regulor to the return line there is no pressure so I used just hose clamps and 5/16th line and barbed fitting
could be cleaner as I rough guessed on lines
all to long so could make them shorter and cleaner once I know it all works great
Sous or similar moderator, is there any way we can get the photos back in this thread? Lots of great info here that would be made much better with supporting imagery. -JR
Its because of photobucket, not the site. This is an old thread, and back in the day we needed to use a pic host off site, so when someone canceled service, or their settings changed, we lost images. It could be something else, but usually it’s not the forum from what I remember. It could be though.
