Obnoxious seatbelts.
Hey all, im not sure if this is problem or design problem in my truck but the seatbelts lock up on the tiniest bump and keep you there for a few seconds. this weekend in vermont i was on dirt roads for a good amount of time and it gets real old trying to lean forward but being locked because i just hit a bump i couldnt see, or trying to lean forward to check traffic. its really pretty annoying if anyone else has this problem and has done something to get rid of it let me know, thanks a bunch
its a 2003 f250 xlt fx4

Mine does it too, so I guess it is by design. I take the damned thing off when I am off roading.

Mine do the same. It takes a very little bump to lock them.

I wonder if maybe its part of the FX4 package? so if your offroading you can stay in your seat? lol

No, it's not part of the FX4. It's in my Lariat as well. Obnoxious is a very good word for it. Way too sensitive.

Safety feature that went a little too far, I think. Mine does it, too.

yes definitely a safety feature that went a little too far, unlike the people in the seats

I never wear my seatbelt. The annoying part to me is the beeping when I start the truck.

It's just a bad design on the inertia lockup...
My Chevrolets aren't quite as bad, but they'll still do it. I think they have more of a buffer than the Fords before they lock up.
I've also noticed that the passenger side locks up much worse than the driver side.

Agreed. For some reason the passenger does lock up easier.
