connecting rod?
on my 93 f150 4.9l does anyone know where i can get a set of connecting rods cause summit racing doesnt have any, lets just say it got bent(hydrolocked). the machine shop wants 1400$ to do just the bottom end and bore the engine out cause i got the head redone in april but this still seams high. but yeah i have searched the internet and cannot seem to find much for a connecting rod except for ebay but it says the diamater of the crank bearing cant be gurranteed for all of them to be the same.

If you're just looking for stock stuff, have you checked your local craigslist for a running 4.9? They go for real cheap..

I'm pretty sure I have a set out of an '83, but they'll need reconditioning. I'll look in the garage and get back to you.

If you're in eastern Iowa I have a set of 300 rods you can trade a 12 pack of Oatmeal Stout for. Just need reconditioned and the old pistons pressed off.

Wait, What, PAW went out? NO!!!
Well, there went a huge rebuilding resource. Hopefully someone buys up the stock and reopens the doors. Maybe when the economy picks back up.
