I have a 20001 F 150 w/ 5.4 and 3:73. Before buying a Powerstroke I oftem pulled our Maxum 24' boat. Almost exactly the same weight you are talking about. On the flats it did just fine but wouldn't pull it's way out of a paper bag in OD. In the hills, and I mean small hills this thing has to work it's guts out to maintain 50-55MPH. And all the while getting around 8MPG. I was greatly disappointed with this motor. My wife bought an Expedition with the same motor and around town it's great for her but it's worse w/ the boat than the F-150. If you need a daily driver as well as a tow vehicle it is probably the choice. If you can justify a larger workhorse go with a PSD. Another thing about the F-150, I feel the brakes are still a little light duty for 4-6 thousand pound towing. Good luck
