Thank-you Richard for ALL of the information...and to you Chris for the link. Much appreciated from you guys. I will open the door panel tomorrow and verify the connectors etc. I'm hoping that all I hve to do is get a few supplies and finish connecting the other 4 wires. It's been a long time since I let the smoke out of wiring...should be fun!! lol
Well…here’s good news and bad news!
I attempted to connect my tow mirrors per the directions.
Good News: The driver’s side mirror works fine…marker lights, signal and (I assume) heat.
Bad News: The passenger side mirror did not work…here’s some background info…
The directions say to use the ‘power’ wire from the window switch, for the heat mode
1) There was not the same color of wire on the passenger’s side as the driver’s side. So I tested all the wires in the switch and could not find the ‘hot’ one.
2) So I tapped into the same wire from the driver’s side and routed it over to the passenger side mirror harness for the heat.
This is what I’m thinking…while here at work…I’m still having either a power issue or ground issue! I’ll have to check these once I get home.
Also does the heat mode automatically turn off on the mirrors, or are they constant ON because of the way they will be wired …any thoughts would be appreciated!
