Now that I have your attention I would like to know what it is REALLY called. It's the part that goes between the stud and clutch fork (the part that makes contact with the clutch fork). It looks like a small torpedo. I lost mine and wanted ideas on what I should do until I find it. Is it something I can buy somewhere? Any ideas on what to use to replace it temporarily? I know it's in the garage somewhere but its a mess in there. I will clean it out later now that my truck is 99% complete.
I would call it the clutch adjusting rod. Threaded rod, pointed at one end with 2 nuts to lock it in place at the pivot point. They are arround, I have seen a few different versions, depending on motor type. If you know yours is in the garage, you could just use some threaded rod and a couple nuts until you find yours.
BACK TO THE QUESTION AT HAND. I still haven't found it but I spent the day splitting wood for a family member.
I would like to point out that I still have the stud and nuts I just don't have the little *torpedo* (insert choice word here) that slides over the top of it.
MAN! It doesn't matter if I say the word or not a 13 year old could turn what we are saying into 10 kinds of wrong. Ever hang around a 12 year old boy? THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID comes up a lot.
COOL! You guys rock! I will just get a new one then. I cant wait to drive my truck! I hope someone can get it before Saturday. There is a local car show I want to attend. This is the first year I didn't have a vehicle in this show. Only 2 more left this year and one is this Saturday. If I cant get it by then I'm wrapping the clutch fork to the stud with duct tape! I AM GOING TO THIS SHOW!
I found it! It was under all the crap in the bed of the truck. I Used a small deep socket as a temporary solution and drove my truck to dump the junk out. When I got most of the junk out I fount it and put it in on the spot. Nice to have it working right again.
I'm happy about it for sure! Now I am removing the oil pan and sand blasting it. I am going to paint it high heat black then install it. I figure I will clean out the inside well too so my oil stays clean longer instead of mixing with the crap in the bottom of the oil pan.
