I HAVE A GREAT TRUCK THAT USE ALL THE TIME ON MY FARM BUT THE OTHER DAY IT LEFT ME STANDING ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WITH MY TRAILER IN THE ROAD. MY QUESTION IS MY SUPPER CHIP DECODER SAY THE (ICP NOT CONTROLLABLE) THE TRUCK RUNNS ALRIGHT WITH NO TRAILER BUT YOU PUT A VERY LIGHT LOAD ON IT AND ABOUT 30 MPH IS IT AND IT GOES DOWN TO NOTHING AND STARTS RUNNING VERY ROUGH WITH A LIGHT WHITE SMOKE WHILLE IT IS TRYING TO PULL. ANY HELP
Any other codes? Could just be a bad ICP sensor or IPR. Try disconnecting the ICP sensor (it's the one on the front-driver's side, next to the fuel filter bowl). If it improves, that's your problem. If not, could be IPR, or a few other things. Need more details & troubleshooting to tell for sure. But with just that code, I'd start there.
Also, how are your filters? Clean/relatively new? Could be a fueling issue (filter/dieing pump).
Put new filters in first thing no other codes. But why does it not have any power when pulling and has power when not pulling a trailer? Also what does the ICP sensor do ?
Thanks
Thanks new to this were did you put it I am done getting help.
He moved your question to the 99-03 7.3 Powerstroke Forum.
Did you try unplugging the IPC like Izzy said? It senses Injection Control Pressure. If there is oil in the plug or leaking from the plug it is bad and needs to be changed. Also if the engine starts and runs better with it unplugged, it is bad and must be changed. You can not drive the truck with it unplugged. That is the high pressure oil that fires your injectors. There is also an IPR (Injection Pressure Regulator).
With it falling down under load it could also be a fuel problem. I see you changed the filter with no change but there are some fine screens inside the fuel tank that can become clogged and cause problems. You need to check fuel pressure at the fuel filter. If it is low, those screens should be checked and or removed, commonly called the Hutch mod.
I think you should first make sure you have full, clean oil and clean fuel filter. Check the nut on the back of your IPR and make sure it's tight. If all that checks good, the the ICP would be the next choice.
But why does it not have any power when pulling and has power when not pulling a trailer? Also what does the ICP sensor do ?
Thanks
I'd guess your problem is plugged screens in the mixing chamber (inside the fuel tank). You've got enough fuel to tool around empty, but really stand on it or pull a heavy load, and not enough fuel can get through to meet demand.

As Joe shows, an easy way to figure this out is just to plumb in a gauge to one of the ports on the fuel filter bowl and watch what your fuel pressure does when you mash the skinny pedal or pull a trailer.
Here's what they're supposed to look like
But more often they look like this when problems like yours show up.
To eliminate this problem, most of us drop the tank and just throw away the mixing chamber. Then add some type of inline filter to catch large junk between the tank and the pump to act in place of these screens, and you'll never have this issue again. We also sponsors that sell a pre-packaged kit with all the pieces you need if you hate shopping.
The P1211 ICP code is likely related to your Superchips. Pretty common code with a chip and tuner. I'd ignore it till you figure out the fuel.
