keep as two trucks or build one from two?

I just picked up a 74 SCS 140 WB truck for 150.00 rolling chasis. I dont know if the rear is a 70 or a 60, and wanted to know some other info.

My f250 4x4 is rated at 8100 so its a little lighter? then a f350 SCS?

can I put the 70 rear on the f250 4x4? I would have to shorten the drive shaft correct?

Also is the spare tire holder only able to work on the SCS, or can I use the tire holder and mount a flatbed on the frame?

I want to build a truck to be able to tow, and play in the snow with the plow,

So I guess my question is if you had a 74 super camper special, and a 78 f250 4x4 dana 60 front and rear,
would you combine them or sell one to build the other or part them both to make one truck. and if so, what parts should I use to make one truck?

, thanks for any help possable

thats what I was thinking, use the f250 4x4 dana 60 front, and the 70 rear on the super camper specal, with a supercab cab and a flatbed think it would look pretty sweet.

more and more I think about it your right the super camper bed is prettycool witht the spare tire. looking more to get rid of the 78 F250 4x4 and keep the f350 scs, part out the supercab and the 76 4x4

really think the looks of the super camper special, in two wheel drive form is making the eyes light up

why would you have to shorten the driveshaft? are you sure its a d70. A 70 has big axle tubes but taper to a smaller diameter for the last few inches to the brake backing plate. Other than that just pull an axle and see iff its 35 spline

the wheelbase of the super camper special is longer then the f250 4x4 frame, and it is a 70 in the rear.

ok yeah yeah. Was thinking you thought you had to shorten just due to the d70 alone not thinking extended cab.
Dana 70's are tough. Got one in my truck with 44's and slam on it all day with zero issues. What kind of truck do you want to buid a offroad truck, street truck or combination? You got a 410 in the one truck didnt you? Thats a nice score they make some real good power and if it needs a rebuild it worth it to build as they are hard to find and very torquey. I'd measure the stroke from a spark plug hole to see if it does have the 3.98'',428 crankshaft in it unless you know its a for sure as there is some people out there that have no idea.
