I just picked up a '66 F-100 this week and the carb is leaking fuel out of a diaphragm. It's a Motorcraft on a 390 but I'm new to this and have no idea which one. There is no tag on the carb and the only stamping on it is U34. Forum and 'net searches have come up blank. Can someone point me in the right direction?
Also, should I just get the diaphragm part or an entire repair kit? Thanks in advance!

2V or 4V carburetor? Does the carb have an electric solenoid valve used with the throttle linkage?
Is the carburetor a Motorcraft or an Auto-Lite?
No 390's in F100/350's until 1968. 1965/67 F100/350: The only available V8 was the 352 2V.
It's a 2V. This isn't the original motor. Sorry for the confusion. I believe it does have the solenoid onthe opposite side from the linkage. It's got Motorcraft stamped into the metal on top. The only other ID mark I've found (it's pretty nasty right now) is a sticker that appears to say remanufactured and 1995.
From 1975 thru 1979, there are...at least SIX different carburetor kits!
If fuel is leaking from the square plate (held on by four bolts) found on the front of the carb, behind that plate is the accelerator pump diaphram, coil spring and check valve.
There is one acc. pump diaphram for 1962/74: C4AZ9B559A-Motorcraft CM463
Two possibles were used 1975/79, the one above...or D5AZ9B559A-Motorcraft CM2092
There is one check valve 1962/79: C4AZ9576A-Motorcraft CM825
These parts also came in the carb kits.
1980 and later. There is no way to look up carburetors/kits in the parts catalogs, as there are no application charts for them.
The vehicles specific Calibration Code (C/C) number must be known (there are 800 (!) just for 1980/89).
Then when the specific C/C is looked up, it gives the parts list number where carb/carb parts, emission parts, computers and other fall-der-all are listed.

That's exactly where it's coming from.
I'm wondering if this thing has just been put together with whatever parts they had laying around. You wouldn't believe what they did to the brake system.
Anyway, the only thing I can find stamped in te area Bill W. showed on the base plate is either 20CA, 26CA, or 26CA. There's a mark right through the second character and nobody in the house could agree on what it was.
