MAP sensor boost reference

Does anyone take their boost reading off of the MAP sensor?

Is it as accurate as a straight vacuum line to a mechanical gauge?

IMO if you have an 05+ truck the boost gauge on the dash is pretty good.
but if you were to use a differant gauge then you would t off the map hose.

All of the electronic gauge devices like the Insight take the boost reading off of the MAP sensor.
