Map Sensor hookup location after intercooler install

I recently installed a 7.3 intercooler on my 97... I left the hose to the map sensor in the stock intake plenum location. I read someone today said it should go in the hot side instead when intercooled.. Any thoughts on this? Does it make a difference? (I also have the line for my boost gauge Teed into this hose)

I have read that youll have less turbo lag and you wont loose 2 psi boost. I left the boost in the hose between the hot side and MAP sensor.

For what it's worth, the MAP line is on the cold side in the Super Duty trucks. I'd think the PCM would need to adjust fuel and timing curves based on the pressure at the manifold rather than the pressure at the turbocharger compressor outlet.

The OBS PCM doesn't 'learn' like the SD's.

The SD PCM doesn't learn either.

well, It seems like it would show a slightly higher boost in the hot side. Just not sure how, if at all, that would effect the way it runs

If you have it in the hot side and it sees more pressure, the pcm should give it a little more fuel making more power.

As said there will be less turbo lag if you place on the hotside- I have run both sides and there is a noticeable difference when its reading off the hotside

I'm can see where there would be less lag, but how does it affect the defueling strategy at the top end (if the OBS PCM has a defueling strategy for for overboost like the SDs)? Seems like it would defuel sooner since you'd be seeing a higher pressure at the hot side, unless you've installed a boost fooler. There may be advantages to and disadvantages to each side.

No defuel on the OBS- A select few (mine) can overboost the MAP and get a messed up signal that feels like a defuel- in that case a simple min regulator in the MAP line solves the problem.

Jose, I am alive and well! Good to hear from you!

Could one of you who have moved it to the hot side provide a picture of where and how you did it? I am gathering the parts but this is the first I have read of moving the map to hot side.
