I have a lot of rust on mine too. The Ziebart undercoating is flaking off and makes things look worse. I planned on using a power washer under it to get the loose stuff off. The ATF idea sounds good to me.

I have Ziebart undercoating too, makes it look like crap when it flakes, kinda wish it wasn't even put on.
wire wheel or an air powered descaler(wear ear and eye protection and it gets real noisy). Spaying with some motor oil or atf works well to prevent further rust but will not remove it.
